Slingbox 500
The last time Sling Media put out a placeshifting set-top box was 2008. A lot has changed in the TV tech landscape and the new Slingbox 500 (and another model, the $180 Slingbox 350) adds new features to bring it up to speed like full 1080p streaming video and an HDMI input. The idea is watching stuff from your home from anywhere with Internet access using practically any device, whether it’s a phone, tablet or computer.

Dyson DC41 Animal Vacuum Cleaner
Nobody wants to live in filth but the highest-end Dyson vacuum you can get is here to maker sure you also don’t live in dust, pet hair or even the barest hint of a speck of dirt. It’s perfect for those who get hives just thinking about Hoarders level clutter. And while they don’t promise it will clean up flattened cats, it is incredibly powerful with several attachments (including one that’s turbine-powered), this vacuum has a built-in extension to reach out-of-the-way areas, the giant ball mechanism for turning on a dime and the ability to vacuum floors, carpets or practically any surface. We’ve tried it. We were completely blown away. (Or is that “completely sucked away?”) Overkill for some, but for those with large pets, this vacuum could change your life.
