“That’s the constitution. The actual constitution.”
Best: Scandal
Not sure what happened to this show between Season 1 and 2, but hot damn we hope that Season 3 lives up to just how incredibly awesome this year ended up being. The finale was definitely at the top of its game with one shock after another, thanks to Olivia’s father being revealed, David being incredibly manipulative with the Cytron card for his own gain, Jake getting tossed down a dark hole, Billy getting arrested for being a jerk, Fitz and Olivia coming up with a plan to be together until they discover they’ve both made questionable choices, Olivia wearing her white hat and then breaking up with Fitz, Cyrus trying to keep Fitz and Olivia apart, the heartbreaking moment of Fitz going back to Mellie and, of course, the final reveal that Olivia was outed as Fitz’s mistress. Sure it gets a little soapy, but if they keep making these big jaw-dropping reveals we’re happy to go along with it.

The Love Quadrangle
Fitz and Mellie are married and having a baby, but they actively hate each other. Then you’ve got Fitz and Olivia, who are trying to stay apart but are still attracted to each other like magnets. Then there’s Olivia and her new/old beau Edison, who are getting photographed in precarious positions by Fitz’s spies. All making for a lot of tension-filled scenes.
Olivia Pope Is Actually an Awful Person
Don’t take that in a bad way. Our favorite shows are filled with anti-heroes, and she’s worthy of joining their ranks. We initially were blinded by Kerry Washington’s insane beauty, but as we’ve watched, we’ve seen her manipulate a president and an election, be complicit in a major cover-up involving one of her own staffers, ruin relationships to save herself, willingly involve herself in an extramarital affair and help some truly disgusting criminals. That highly-touted white hat isn’t looking so spotless now, is it?

3. Scandal
We want to see Fitz in his best JFK duds, with Mellie in her Jackie O. get-up and Olivia in her sexiest Marilyn dress. It’s not too much of a stretch, and probably a little too on the nose, but this is a Shonda show after all. And we just want to hear Kerry Washington sing her rendition of “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.”
