Hader’s Actual Farewell: Stefon’s Getting Married
Let’s be honest: this is what everyone was waiting for the whole night anyway. And the writers didn’t disappoint, giving Stefon the chance to tell us about one more crazy club, before launching into a full-fledged Graduate spoof with an inspired cameo (Anderson Cooper) and callbacks galore to all the strange places and people the character has described to date. The fact that it ended with Seth and Stefon happily in each other’s arms was icing on the (wedding) cake. Hey writers? Please don’t spoil this happy ending by bringing them back a year from now.

Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live)
The women of SNL have steadily been outperforming the men every episode, and of them we’ve been enjoying newcomer McKinnon the most. Her Ann Romney and Ellen DeGeneres are our favorites, but we pretty much perk up whenever she’s on screen at this point.

“Lincoln” (Saturday Night Live)
It doesn’t come as much surprise that the best moment of SNL this year was shot-for-shot remake of Louis CK’s FX series… only instead of Louie, we got to see inside the twisted world of one Abraham Lincoln. An honorable mention also goes to the Homeland spoof, where we learned Anne Hathaway knows how to work that chin of hers, too.

“Weekend Update: Cecilia Gimenez”
Okay, maybe this is turning into Kate McKinnon appreciation, but she really earned it this week. In a largely predictable “Weekend Update” (who didn’t see Big Bird coming?), the artist behind the Internet’s new favorite painting was a welcome surprise. Her story behind the accuracy of the fresco, and painting of the visibly amused Seth Myers provided Update’s few laughs.
