Joe Biden: A
First of all, how cute were Leslie and Ben talking about moving into the White House? It set the tone for the Vice President’s cameo nicely, and watching Leslie freak out was obviously really cute and fun. To be honest, I had trouble separating the actual Joe Biden with Onion Joe and I actually think that ended up making this scene funnier to me, so there’s a definite chance I’m overscoring. Also, I generally just love Joe Biden… not quite to the extent that Leslie does, but you know what I mean.
Best line of the night: “Well Leslie, look into my eyes, take a deep breath and everything will be fine.”

Jerry and Donna: A
They were nonentities in this episode, but I’m giving them a great grade because they were part of the scene where the whole gang crowded around Leslie and Ben for a toast/Ben-threatening session which may or may not have totally made me cry a little bit.

I loved the actual proposal because of course, especially given the intimacy we got to see between Ben and Leslie. Parks & Rec usually leaves those ultra-personal moments behind closed doors (unless they happen in front of other characters, like in “The Trial of Leslie Knope”), so seeing Lesliben in this private and romantic scene felt really very candid, if not a tiny bit strange. Did I think about how it is sad that Amy Poehler is getting a divorce in real life while her fictional character gets to have this beautiful engagement on her show? Pshh, writing that would make me sound like some kind of crazy fangirl, heh heh. Now please, give me a second, because I need to remember this moment and every little thing about how perfect Amy is at this exact moment.

Submitted Episode: “Win, Lose or Draw”
The results of Pawnee’s City Council election are announced, eventually leading to a Leslie Knope victory after a recount.
Our Pick: “Pawnee Rangers”
For starters, Leslie Knope was literally a Pawnee Goddess is this episode. Her rivalry with Ron (which eventually led to a sweet closing moment and the creation of the Swansons) and her plucky feminism weere in full gear, and those just so happen to be two of our favorite things about this whole series. “Win, Lose or Draw” is not a terrible choice by any means — after all, it shows Leslie’s passion, skills and her relationship with Ben excellently — but it sorely lacked in puppy parties.
