We’re not saying Glee is good again or that we particularly care about the fate of Kurt and Blaine; all we’ll put in writing is that Blaine’s stripped-down piano reprise of “Teenage Dream” was a series highlight, and his rendition of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” was the only reason we didn’t entire despise McKinley’s Grease revival. Never mind Marley, he’s the real New Rachel.

Oh, this is sad. And not in the “Holy crap! Why are they violating us with this bullshit?” sort of way we’ve unfortunately come to expect from this show, but in an actual, honest-to-God miserable, woebegone, brokenhearted, wretched, and deeply unhappy sort of way we haven’t seen on Glee in a very long while.
