Exploitation Theatre (The Newsroom) There are truly so many things we love to hate about Aaron Sorkin’s horribly smug drama, but when he exploited Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’s violent shooting in order to give Will and the gang an uplifting moment (at the expense of NPR, no less), our mouths hit the floor. On the bright side, it prepared us for the ridiculously self-righteous material that follow in every episode thereafter.
