There are few supporting characters that we loved last year more than Schmidt. He’s not only the breakout star of New Girl, but also our primary reason for watching the show. However, given that he’s up against pretty much the entire cast of Modern Family, he might as well throw in the weirdly damp towel. Burrell won last year, Stonestreet won the year prior, so it’s gotta be O’Neill’s turn this year, right?
