30 Rock’s Tribute to Tina Fey

This especially works for 30 Rock’s comedic style, but was just as special in a decidedly non-meta show like Gossip Girl, too: This is your final moment in the sun and the perfect opportunity to wink at your audience. If people are infuriated or think that lines like Jenna’s “Okay, I can’t do this anymore. I’ve never met Mickey Rourke,” are invalidating and stupid, then they probably were never real fans, anyway. Also, a few old favorite guest stars are always welcome, but the quality of what happens to the core characters is far more important than the quantity of former ones.

Best Storyline of Season 7: When he tried to invigorate the TGS staff’s moment from the 2008 election in order have another “spontaneous” kiss with a pretty security guard, but meanwhile running into his doppelganger — the security guard’s husband, a guy by the name of Pete Horn with a full head of a hair and a cool car.
What We’ll Miss the Most: The glimpses into his obviously grim — if not sometimes sexy —personal life… notwithstanding the rape jokes.

Liz Lemon
Best Storyline of Season 7: Seeing her finally get her series-long wish of being a mother was sweet — especially given the reveal of her multi-racial very-familiar clones — but what we enjoyed the most was her very sexy scene in Staples where Criss erotically poured paperclips all over her in slow-mo. What can we say? We’re romantics.
What We’ll Miss the Most: Besides Tina Fey on our screens once a week? Liz’s killer vocabulary, which proved to be too rich to keep diligent track of.

Paul L’astnamé (Mr. Jenna Maroney)
Best Storyline of Season 7: Jenna and his surprise wedding, where he posed as a statue during Colleen’s funeral in what we’re going to go ahead and consider a Doctor Who Weeping Angels homage.
What We’ll Miss the Most: His girlish charm and limitless kinks… and frankly, we’re a little bit afraid that this is the last major role Will Forte will get in a long while where he’s actually on-screen and not just voice-acting.
