Dear Television Without Pity,
You may not be aware of this, but romantic relationships on fictional television shows are, in fact, fake. That’s sort of what fiction means—all of these couples you discuss in your hilarious and insightful list are imaginary! In fact, even the people making up the couples aren’t real. Barney Stinson doesn’t actually live in New York City. An actor, Neil Patrick Harris, portrays Barney and everything Barney says and does has actually been Mr. Harris acting as Barney while been filmed on a sound stage in Los Angeles! Crazy, right?
Sincerely,
Moi
Oh yeah, all of our favorite people exist only inside of our TV screens and not in real life where we can one day meet/hang out/sleep together/get married/grow old together. Pshh, we’ve heard that one before. Nice try!
