Although Pixar’s signature characters still occasionally pop up in cartoon shorts, Toy Story 3 beautifully brought the narrative arc that drove the films — specifically Woody’s relationship with Andy — to a moving, near-perfect end. Sure, the toys will continue to have adventures with their new owner, but that central emotional journey reached its final destination.
