What’s New: Peter Loves Gwen, Not Mary JaneOur Take: Swapping MJ out for Gwen is actually more in keeping with comic book continuity, as Peter hooked up with the blonde stunner before ever seriously dating the redheaded wanna-be actress. (Of course, if The Amazing Spider-Man really wanted to be faithful to the comic, Peter would be lusting after Liz Allen.) And this allows the filmmakers to eventually tackle one of the most iconic moments of Spider-Man lore: Gwen’s plunge from the George Washington Bridge. (On the other hand, they’d be wise to avoid the whole “multiple Gwen clones” storyline or anything involving clones, really.)
